RESIDENTIAL EXTENSION PROJECT – SEVEN HILLS

RESIDENTIAL EXTENSION SEVEN HILLS

Floor Area:   106.3 m2

Breaking through three meters of rock to construct a basement garage with workshop. We constructed a suspended slab over the garage to build up two extra levels, tying into the original house creating a new ‘wing’. The new extension gave our client a master retreat with walk in robe and en-suite on the top level. On the middle level the grand entrance with guest bathroom and living area. The new kitchen looking out over the backyard flowing out on to the new deck.

The clients came to us with certified plans and we helped them bring their vision to life.

Newman Steel and Aluminium Fabrication custom made all handrails, balustrade and screening.

This site had a few challenges; Firstly the block was sloping with a narrow street which limited access.  The other challenge that we overcame was the 3 meters of rock that we had to dig through to make way for the basement level.

RAISE UP - BUILD UNDER | EXTENSION - RENOVATION

With this block being so close to the water we were challenged with engineering the footings once we started the dig.  Working closely with the client and the engineers we were able to come to a resolution allowing the build to continue on schedule and most importantly on budget.

Our client’s vision was to keep as much charm from the original cottage as possible.  Restoring the cottage and blending the old with new required attention to detail and communicating not only with our clients but with our trades throughout the build to ensure that the charm was sustained.

This beautiful renovation turned a two bedroom cottage into a dual living home.  The main house having three bedrooms including the master with a walk in robe, main bathroom and separate wash room.  Two living areas and a large back deck showcasing all aluminium handrails and screens fabricated in house by Newman Structural Steel and Aluminium Fabrication.

The second living space has one bedroom full kitchen with a dining room opening out onto the back patio.

The front stairs leading to the upper level and window hoods are all fabricated out of aluminium for longevity and no maintenance, while keeping the post war home look.

RENOVATION | EXTENSION PROJECT – MAJESTIC OUTLOOK

MULTIPLE LEVEL EXTENSION AND FULL RENOVATION

Our clients had managed to find a property in the suburb that they had dreamed of owning in. The house was small and tired and did not meet their living requirements for space or lifestyle.  The block was sloping with no access from the front of the property, so we had to negotiate access from the rear.

With this particulate project, the client provided us with plans that they had designed by their architect.  Working together with the client and the architect, Newman Homes brought to life their vision.

Specialising in challenging sites we were very excited to accept this challenging renovation | extension in MAJESTIC OUTLOOK.

This project allowed Newman Homes to utilise our various areas of expertise from earthworks to carpentry and also structural steel fabrication.

Upstairs shows off three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living areas and large kitchen with a butlers pantry and entertaining timber deck.

Downstairs shows off a two bedroom unit with a deck looking out over the pool.
